MAY

Saturday May 05    The annual Marble Festival is becoming quite a colorful event in Cairo. Don't miss this unique event where local artisans and those from afar, display their creations and treasures! 

JUNE

June 01 - 03 The North Bend Rail Trail Festival is held each year in conjunction with National Trails Day. Poker rides, ghost stories, sounds of the tunnel contest, luminary walk and more! Contact a member of the North Bend Rails to Trails Foundation for more information!
                               

Saturday June 16  The West Virginia Basket Festival is held each year in Cairo. Contact a member of the North Bend State Park  for more information!
                                 

June 22 - 24  The Mid-Ohio Valley Multi-Cultural Festival celebrates multicultural diversity, highlights the importance of rich cultural heritage and foster and appreciation of all cultures through entertainment, cuisine, education and artistic expression.

JULY

June 29 - July 02  Independence Day Celebration! This event is held at North Bend State Park.                               

July 12 - 14 The Ellenboro Glass Festival features works of area craftsmen, and events for young and old alike. Musicians perform live on stage, and fireworks light up the sky for a grand finale! This event is held beside the rail trail.

July 19 - 21  Ellenboro Volunteer Fire Department Summer Bash! This event is held at Pennsboro Speedway.  Drawing held on Saturday July 21st.                                      

The Salem Chamber of Commerce is sponsoring old-fashioned Days at the Salem Depot. This old-fashioned family day is a chamber-sponsored fundraiser, with proceeds to benefit the stage at the pavilion.

AUGUST

Country Roads Festival in Pennsboro is another hometown celebration with arts and crafts, food, pageant, and more to draw former residents and visitors to the City of Pennsboro.

Parkersburg Homecoming celebrates  Parkersburg's rich history and people with a weekend of top-name entertainers, fireworks show, a variety of vendors and concessions.

WV Blackberry Festival is located at Clarksburg City Park. Includes food, live entertainment, crafts, vendors and blackberry products.

 

 

SEPTEMBER

WV Italian Heritage Festival offers dancing in the streets with festive foods, pageantry, Italian games, parades and entertainment. North Central West Virginia's largest festival

Black Heritage Festival entertains the public with music, dancing, food. Festival is located on E.B. Saunders Way in Clarksburg.

Volcano Days highlights the area's history when oil wells dotted the landscape. Engine displays, crafts and food vendors await you!

West Virginia Honey Festival always creates a buzz in the air as visitors experience live bee demonstrations, a variety of bee products, pageants, contests and more!

The Harvest Moon Arts & Crafts Festival is sponsored by the Wood County Recreation Commission. It is considered "The" arts 
and crafts show of the Mid-Ohio Valley. Approximately 250 vendors represent all forms of media, food and entertainment

OCTOBER

Saturday October  06 Ritchie County Blue Grass Reunion in Cairo.
                           

October  12 - 14  Pioneer Days in Cairo is another hometown celebration.
                               

Savor the moment with simmering applebutter from the Salem Applebutter Festival. The area around the Salem Depot comes alive with festivals!

Habitat for Humanities annual bicycle race begins in Cairo… and biker's race to the finish line 40 miles away at Salem. Bikers are challenged as they race individually, or in teams. Contact the Doddridge/Ritchie Habitat for Humanity Office for more information.

Cairo reverts to pioneer times during Pioneer Days. Applebutter, cider, pumpkin carving contest, pioneer crafts, pleasure bike poker ride, outdoor worship service on Sunday morning and more.

NOVEMBER

Saturday November  03  Scottish - Irish Heritage Time in Cairo.
                           

DECEMBER

The Spirit of Christmas will be celebrated at Fort New Salem.
